This was one of my favorite parts of writing The Storyteller’s Throne!  It’s such a fine line between being sexy and sensual, being awkward and being just plain cheesy!  It was an awesome challenge for me to write it elegantly and sexually without exploiting it.  To write it in a way that elevated it without putting it on display.  I wanted to have respect for sex itself … but also bring a little grit into it and a sense that these two people are not completely passive.  I totally had fun with it and have many different versions of the scenes on my computer … Continue reading “Writing a Sex Scene”

Once I had my female character … it was only natural for me to give her someone else to play with, learn alongside and to ultimately find love within her world.

I knew I wanted to write a book about emotions and another world.  I knew I wanted to create magic and healing.  I knew my main character would be a strong female who had flaws and a history that needed to be integrated into who she was.  I knew all of this.

But when I sat down to start writing, I was blank when it came to my female character.
